electic Paperie is sponsoring a Mixed Media Paintbrush Challenge. I used a rubber stamp image from Pink Cat Studio that is a stylized version of Botticelli's "The Birth of Venus" painting. I colored Venus with Prismacolor pencils. I used a Sakura "stardust" gel pen to color her hair ribbons. A starfish charm and some tiny seashells adorn her hair. The brush handle was painted with Liquitex Soft Body acrylic paint in Phthalocyanne Green. Emerald Extreme Glitter Acrylic Paint by Plaid was painted over the top to add shimmer. For the bristles I mixed together some of the green Soft Body with some Liquitex Interference Gold paint and some Martha Stewart Glitter paint in Turquoise. On the bottom of the bristles I added some shells and a wave cut from some K&Co. scrapbook borders and some seashells and pearls. I strung tiny shells, beads and pearls on wire and wrapped them on the handle. At the very top I added a shell charm. The tag was stamped with "Goddess" (also by Pink Cat Studio) with Versamark and heat embossed. Tag was cut with a Spellbinders die and edged with a gold leaf Krylon pen. I added fibers in colors that reflect the colors in the design.

Ahhh, Paulette, she is lovely. I've never seen that stamp before but you have used it so cleverly on this brush. As always, I am amazed by the fabulous details. Even though I have come to expect and look forward to them in your art, they still surprise and delight me each time. The fibres and lovely wrapping of the handle, the beautiful charms and shells, and the lovely Goddess tag all add up to a beautiful make. So glad you joined us for this eclectic Paperie challenge, GF.
