Gingerbread Man & Candy Canes

I discovered this cute little cookie on Pinterest the other day and immediately thought he would be perfect for this month's Reader's Art Quest on the Unruly Paper Arts blog.

This month's theme is "Gingerbread & Candy Canes."  And uses this picture for inspiration:

I fussy cut the gingerbread.  I added Stickles in red, green, white and yellow.  I used some white liquid pearls to resemble frosting.  I added 3 rhinestones for the holly berries.  I added some Crystal Effects to the candy cane and the peppermint candies to give them shine and dimension.  The lacy doily was cut with a Martha Stewart border punch.  I added 2 rhinestones candy canes as embellishments.

Hope your holidays are filled with yummy treats.......Paulette

Merry Christmas 2015

My only Christmas decorations this year. It's a collection of 14 artist trading cards designed by a group of talented women from all over the US and Canada. We met as imaginary friends on the internet but have since become sisters and best friends. A very Merry Christmas to my friends and family. Luv ya, P.

What's New Pussycat?

This little kitty is waiting for Santa.  It's Christmas Eve and it's snowing...will Santa and his reindeer be able to make it through the snowstorm?

I designed this card for a challenge on Splitcoaststampers that requires using a movie title as inspiration---I chose "What's New Pussycat?"

I also designed this card for the December Inspiration Challenge on the Die-namites Blog.   I used the 2 Die-namites dies below:

To give the kitty dimension, I cut him out of dark gray paper 3 times and pasted the layers together.  I cut the window out of a woodgrain pattern paper and fussy cut away the bird, the birdhouse and the foliage.  I used an origami technique to design my tree.  I added a flower and some gems as accents.

Wishing you a Merry Christmas...................Paulette

Surfin' Santa

Some of my stampin' BFFs are doing a weekly challenge.  This week's topic is penguins.  I used a Stampin' Up stamp.  Colored with Prismacolor pencils and added a bit of Wink of Stella to the waves.  I added a sticker Santa hat and some red diamond mesh as well as punched snowflake.  The frame was punched with a Spellbinders die.  The paper is from Graphic 45.

My colors and the addition of the Santa hat fit this mood board from Rubber Dance Art Stamps challenge for Nov./Dec.

Thanks for stopping by..................Paulette

Gingerbread & Candy Canes

The December Readers Art Quest challenge on the Unruly Paper Arts blog is "Gingerbread & Candy Canes.  This gingerbread house is the creative prompt:

I used paper from Graphic 45 Nutcracker Sweet Collection: Gingerbread Delights.  I used a doily die to cut the white circle and a NellieSnellen die to cut the green layer.  The bow was made by a die.  The candy canes were cut from pattern paper and red and crystal Stickles were added to give them sparkle.  The gingerbread boy and girl are Recollections stickers and the Santa hat is a Hobby Lobby sticker.  The card design is called "Tent Topper" --- a tutorial can be found on Splitcoaststampers.

Happy Cookie Baking........Paulette

Believe

I made this card for DCWV's Stack-a-holic Sketch Challenge for December.  I used DCWV DIY Project stack FAVOR BOXES.  The sketch is below:

The Santa circle, the tree with sentiment, the gift circle and the star are all punch-out die cuts from the stack.  The pattern papers are also from the FAVOR BOXES stack.  I edged some of the pieces with a gold leaf Krylon pen and added some rhinestones and diamond mesh trim.

Hope you are getting an early start to your holiday crafting...Paulette
