It's a Ladybug B'Day!

This card reminds me of the Sesame Street Song:  The Ladybugs' Picnic.  I made it for the Inspiration Challenge on SplitcoastStampers.

My inspiration comes from this twinchie: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/396105729696261909/
I used a Sizzix die for the leaves, a ribbon flower and a ladybug applique which was popped up on foam tape.

Have a great day..........................Paulette

Published in Spring 2015 Take Ten

Just got an advanced copy of Stampington's Take Ten Magazine.  I've been published!  Cards for this magazine should take no more than 10 minutes to make.  The stamps I used for this set of three golf themed cards are from Stampin D' Amour and can be found HERE.  The three cards were published in a section of the magazine called "Variations On a Theme."  The pattern papers are from Graphic 45.  I used a polka dot embossing folder to mimic the dimple in a golf ball for all the white papers I used.   On this first card I used a half pearl as a golf ball.

In the same issue of Take Ten they also published a card I made for a sketch challenge.  The stamp is from Close to My Heart and the paper is DCWV.

While I prefer making more intricate cards, I often submit cards to magazines for publication that challenge me to create outside my usual style.

Love

The Stamp-a-holic's sketch challenge this month over on the DCWV blog uses the sketch below:

I used DCWV's "A Formal Affair" stack and a ready made glittered DCWV card as a background.  The white paper was dry embossed with a Cuttlebug Polka Dot embossing folder.  The four red foil hearts were cut from a heart shaped doily.  I added a small piece of red heart ribbon and some white lace.  The silver glittered "love" embellishment was from the wedding department at the craft store.

Wishing you a Happy Valentine's Day...............Paulette

Love Ya!

I made this card for the February Reader Art Quest challenge over on Unruly PaperArts blog.  The challenge is to use this mood board and colors as inspiration.

The stamp is by Penny Black, the die is from Sizzix and the pattern paper is by Colorbok.  The flower was fashioned from a Punch Bunch hydrangea punch.  Image was colored with Prismacolor pencils and OMS.

Puppy Love

This valentine is for a sketch challenge today over on Splitcoaststampers.  I used an image from a pack of Victorian Valentine scrap by K & Co.  The card is a DCWV pre-embossed design.  The rose paper is from Colorbok Victorian Parlour.  In the background is a pink heart doily and a gold foil doily from my stash.

Not Their Style

The current issue (Jan., Feb., Mar. 2015) of The Stampers' sampler features 4 cards I submitted for their dress template challenge.  This is one of the cards I submitted that was "rejected."  Here are the directions I used to design this card:

 Stamps: KaiserCraft
Ink:  Memento: Tuxedo Black, Ranger Distress Ink-barn door
Accents: Scissor brad, buttons, lace, fabric, dress pattern tissue
 Paper: Graphic 45
Directions:  Distress edges of beige layer with red ink using a sponge. Stamp dress form with black ink to beige layer.   Cut out dress and attach to beige layer.  Sew buttons onto card.  Attach lace, gingham fabric and pattern tissue with scissore brad.  Words were cut from same G45 paper pack and layered onto beige paper.

Have a Super-bowl Sunday...........................Paulette
