It's Easy Being Green

I wanted to design a monochromatic card today.  The main reason I chose green for my color palette  was to use up all the scraps of green paper that have been accumulating on my craft table.  I had used the felt butterflies on several recent projects so they were fluttering around the area too.  I also found some lime Stickles in the area.  The papers are from DCWV.  The ink is Peacock Feather Distress Ink by Ranger.  The die-cut was made with a Marianne Designs die.  The sentiment is from a Stamp N Plus set---it's a very pretty font.  It's not on the website but can be ordered by calling LuAnn at 715-271-1873.

Play Music

This card was inspired by a Splitcoaststampers Clean & Simple challenge: Pinterest Inspiration---Colorful Chairs:
.  I used a Memory Box die to cut out the birds.  The music is re-cycled sheet music from the Friends of the Library book sale.  Black paper is from my scrap bin---its previous life was a report folder cover.  The treble clef is Dresden scrap from Paper Dreams Factory.  "Play" is from a stamp set by Stamp N Plus...call LuAnn to order the stamps:  715-271-1873.

Summer Has Arrived!

Summer officially began this week so I thought I'd design a fun summer card with some warm sunny colors.  I love this fun silhouette stamp from Stamp N Plus.  The stamp is GRN34 and while it is not on the website, it can be ordered by calling LuAnn at 715-271-1873.  I chose powdered chalks from Chalk-AH-Lot.  The colors I used are: Perky, Peach, Fizzy, Crimson and Dandy.  The scalloped square was cut with a Spellbinders die and the leaf flourish with a Cheery Lynn die.

Hope some Summer Fun is on your agenda for this week...enjoy,   Paulette

Help! I've Lost All My Marbles...

Here's another moo for the  Moo Swap over on Splitcoaststampers.  A “moo” is a miniature work of art that measures 1 1/8” wide by 2 3/4” long.  The theme of the swap is to use a technique or embellishment to serve as an art prompt/reference for future projects.  A humorous title is not required but adds to the fun.

For this moo I used some corrugated cardstock.  I used a glue pen to line the crevices with glue and then I added microbeads (also called micromarbles).  This little girl looks like how I feel some days.  I got the stamp at a used stamp sale and I have no idea which company makes this stamp.

Thanks for stopping by.  Happy 1st Day of Summer---Paulette

Jillian's Iris Fold Graduation Card

Here's one more graduation card using this graduation cap--- a new iris fold stamp from Stamp N Plus.  The stamp is not yet posted on the website but can be ordered by calling LuAnn at 715-271-1873.  I chose the colors of Jillian's high school.  I used  pearlescent black paper strips and as the paper was cardstock thickness, I chose not to fold it.  The 13 was embossed on silver paper with a Tim Holtz embossing folder by Sizzix.  A silver gem was added to the tassel as an accent.  The "congrats!" stamp is from an unknown company from my stash.

Happy Monday!   Paulette

Blossoms At Sunset

There is an "Anything Goes" challenge over on the Chalk-AH-Lot Cafe blog starting today.  You must use chalk in your design.  It's Challenge # 38.  I used powdered chalk from Stamp N Plus.  You can find the chalks HERE.  To achieve my sunset, I like to use a white, matte photo paper by Staples and apply the chalks with a sponge.  The colors I used here are: Perky, Peach, Fizzy, Crimson and Dandy.  The papers are from DCWV.  The bouquet was cut with a Memory Box die.  The background layers were cut with Spellbinders Nestabilities dies.  Come play along with us--- head over to the Chalk-AH-Lot blog to get all the details on Cindy's challenge.
Hope your summer is filled with warm sunny days and beautiful sunsets.   Paulette

Honey, I Shrunk the Kids!

I'm in a Moo Swap over on Splitcoaststampers.  A “moo” is a miniature work of art that measures 1 1/8” wide by 2 3/4” long.  The theme of the swap is to use a technique or embellishment to serve as an art prompt/reference for future projects.  A humorous title is not required but adds to the fun.

For my technique I chose Shrinky Dinks.  The steps to using Shrinky Dinks are as follows:
Stamp on Shrinky Dinks with Stazon ink, I used the pre-sanded type as it holds the color better.
Color with Prismacolor pencils.
Cut out image.
Hold down with chopstick and use heat gun to shrink.  Shrinks to 5/8s its size.

For my moo I chose 2 stamps from Stamp N Plus' Ardith Trumpy's "As the Crow Flies" stamp line.  The black and white images on the right are what the stamps look like when they are originally stamped on the sheet of Shrinky Dinks.  In the photo on the left, you see what the images look like when they shrink from the heat.  I felt a bit sadistic as I watched these little guys curl up, shrink and then flatten out.  It reminded me of the shrinking witch in Wicked when the water was poured on her.

Happy Monday.....................Paulette

Three B's

My friend, BonnieBeth, is hosting a "B" challenge over on the Eclectic Elapu blog.  She's requesting projects with the letter "B" and contain three things beginning with the letter "B."  My card has a bird, berries, a branch and blossoms.  That's an extra "B" just BE-cause.

This card was clean and simple to create.  I used a pre-made card by DCWV for the background, 2 dies by Memory Box to create the white oval and over-layed filagree and a dimensional sticker from the Dollar Tree completes the design.  Even the bling (that's another "B") was already on the sticker.

Have a Bee-utiful Day.                                   ...Paulette

By the Sea Shore Altered Spoon

eclectic Paperie is having an Altered Spoon Challenge on their blog.  I love this challenge and often frequent garage sales and thrift shops to collect spoons to alter.  This soup spoon has a vintage sea shore theme.  The bathing beauty and the two large shells were cut from a re-purposed notecard.  I added a shell, starfish and sand dollar charm and some pearls.  I glued some trim to the handle as well as a bow and sun charm.

Thanks for stopping by.  You can see more Altered Spoons by visiting the electic Paperie blog.

To a Deere Dad

The tractor stamps from Stamp N Plus are a great choice for masculine birthdays as well as for Fathers' Day.  Both the sentiment and this tractor stamp are available HERE.  I used earth tones for my color theme inspired by the DCWV plaid patterned paper.  Tractor and sentiment were stamped with a brown Stazon ink on cream cardstock.  The same ink was sponged on the edges to add a distress effect.  The kitty is a button with the shank removed and the fibers behind the kitty are frayed grosgrain ribbon.
Thanks for stopping by.................Paulette
