Bonjour

The Stack-aholic Challenge for April uses this sketch:

I used the Meet Me in Paris stack...my current favorite stack.  The gold circle was cut with a Memory Box die.  The "Bonjour" was fussy cut from one of the papers in the stack.  The Eiffel Tower is also from this stack and is mounted on a black postage stamp diecut that was cut from an unbranded die.  I added some glittery black flowers and some gold gem centers.

Kyle and Bob Got Married

My hairdresser announced on Facebook that he was getting married this week. The picture Kyle posted had him and Bob coming out of the County Clerk's Office in yellow and dark pink t-shirts. I took my clue from that photo for the colors. The background was cut using Gina Marie Designs dies and embossed with a Cuttlebug embossing folder. The bird dies were eBay buys from China. I freehand cut the hats and ties. I made the roses with a Punch Bunch corner punch.

Congrats, Kyle and Bob...........................................Paulette

Meet Me in Paris

I love DCWV's Meet Me in Paris stack.  All the papers in my card are from this stack except for the black paper which comes from DCWV's Bella Armoire stack.  I used a die from Ellentina to cut the loopy black background and a die from China for the Eiffel Tower.  I added some gold flourishes that were leftover die cut scraps from another project.  Ribbon, flowers and Gold Stickles complete my design.

I made this card for the DCWV's March Stackaholic Challenge.  The sketch for this month's challenge can be seen here:

DCWV Stack-aholic Challenge for February 2017

The February Stack-aholic Challenge is posted on the blog.

I chose papers from my new favorite DCWV stack:  Meet Me in Paris.  The white with black floral background layer was cut with a Gina Marie Designs die.  The other floral layers as well as the pink rectangle containing the sentiment were cut from this stack also.  A dusty rose color paper from the same pack was used to punch out the bottom layer of the blossom with a Stampin Up punch.  The thank you stamp was a freebie from a magazine from the U.K.  I used a die from C.C. Designs to cut out the foliage.  I added a flower from Recollections to the base blossom.  I embellished with some pink rhinestone flourishes and three pink half pearls in varying sizes.

The challenge uses this sketch:

Meet Me in Paris

The January 2017 DCWV Stack-aholic Challenge uses this sketch:

I used papers from the DCWV Meet Me in Paris stack.  I embossed the pink paper  with a Darice embossing folder featuring French images.  I used Ranger Distress Ink Victorian Velvet to emhance the raised images created by the embossing folder.  I used dies from China to cut the flowers and a Memory Box die to cut out the butterflies.  The leaves were cut with a C. C. Designs die.  The center of the flower is a pink half pearl.  For the horizontal strip I used black cardstock with an overlay of glittered pink adhesive lace.

Tags for CHA

I love doing the monthly Stack-aholic Challenges on the DCWV Facebook page and blog.  Next weekend is CHA in Phoenix.  Megan of DCWV posted a call on Facebook asking for volunteers to send in some tags for a board that will be on display at CHA.  Here are the criteria she posted:

As part of our booth display this year, we are hoping to put together a wall of tags that shows (either with words, pictures, or other art) “Why do I create?” and/or “
What makes me a Maker?” We would LOVE to get a tag from you showing this and how it relates to you! The tag size is 2-3/8”x4-3/4” (6cmx12cm).  If you want to make more than one even, that would be great too!

I had so many ideas that I ended up making 5 tags.  They will be going in the mail tomorrow...wish I could be going with them....

Inspired By Alexander McQueen

Every Saturday on Splitcoaststampers there is an Inspiration Challenge.  This week's challenge uses the gorgeous dresses on this tumblr site called "i don't wear dresses."

I need a sympathy card for the mother of a friend who passed away this week. Ruth was 95 years old and a most gracious and beautiful woman. This dress by Alexander McQueen was my inspiration for the die I used to frame my design. The delicate floral spray reminds me of Ruth...she was a petite and frail woman who weighed only 78 lbs. I used the Tattered Lace floral die and cut several copies and cut them apart to fashion my design.  I added some half pearls as embellishments.

I am entering this card in the Dies R Us #64 Anything Goes Challenge.
