Blog Hop Featuring Sarah's Scribbles

It's time for another Stamp N Plus Scrap N Blog Hop.  This month the design team is featuring the Sarah's Scribbles stamps designed by LuAnn's daughter, Sarah Ali.  I chose J-SEA004 for my first card.  I stamped first on a flower pattern paper and colored the handle, rim and bottom with Prismacolors; then I stamped the image 3 more times on white cardstock.  The little fairies were colored with Prismacolor pencils and the wings were glittered up with some Stickles.  The tea cup was made glossy with some Glossy Accents and mounted on pop-dots to add dimension.  The little fairies were cut out and also popped up on pop-dots.  The white lacey medallion was cut with a Spellbinders Persian motif die.   A polka dot embossing folder was used to dry emboss the blue layer.  I added some pale blue rhinestones for added bling.
*********************************************************************************

For this second card, I call "Sunflower Sue," I used I-SEA002.   I stamped her 4 times on white cardstock and colored the images with Prismacolor pencils and OMS.  I cut out 3 of the flowers and sculpted them on a mousepad with a stylus and popped them up on Pop-Dots.  Firefly Stickles were added to the fairy wings.  The large sunflower was cut with a Spellbinders die and distressed with Ranger Antique Paper Distress ink.  The brown & white polka dot center is cut from a Spellbinder die also.  Cinnamon Stickles were brushed on the flower centers.  The braided piece under the flower border was punched by an EK Success die.

Make Mine Strawberry

Strawberry DCWV patterned paper was the inspiration for this card.  The ice cream cone is a newer Stamp N Plus stamp and not on the website.  You can order it by calling LuAnn at 715-271-1873.  The die cuts are from Spellbinder and Nellie Snellen.  I used microbeads on the ice cream and for the cherry on top.  Ribbon and some rhinestones were added as embellishments.  Stamped images were colored with Prismacolor pencils and OMS.

Have an ice cream treat to celebrate this new week.  Paulette

Surf's Up!

The Hula Association of the Midwest is having a workshop in Lisle, IL in Sept.  I am donating some cards as a fundraiser for my daughter's halau.  I used some Hawaiian themed papers from a DCWV paper packs.  The photo was repurposed from the index page on the back of an Hawaiian calendar.  Flowers are from a Carl punch and leaves are cut from a Cheery Lynn die.  Stickles were added to the flower centers.

Aloha, Paulette

Phoebe and Cat at the Fence in Red

Stamp N Plus Design Team blog is hosting a challenge using Stamp N Plus or Stamp Affair flower stamps.  I thought I'd start this week with another version of this  stamp you could use to enter our challenge.

The stamp is called "Phoebe with Kitty at Fence"  X2557 and can be found in the Patti's Kids section of the Stamp N Plus catalog.  I stamped the image with Black Stazon ink and colored with Prismacolors and OMS.  I added a bit of Stickles to Phoebe's flowers and Kitty's collar.
The flowers framing the lower edge were stamped with a stamp from stamp set SAS-520.  The flowers were stamped twice and the top set was sculpted on a mousepad with a stylus to give them dimension and attached with pop-dots.  The leaves were paper pieced.  The circular pieces were cut with Spellbinder dies.  Stickles were added for glitz to the flowers, leaves and bird.  A red organdy ribbon was added.  Designer paper is from DCWV.

Please click on the Flower Challenge link above and check out the other DT members' flower cards.  Enter our challenge to win prizes.  Remember you must use Stamp N Plus or Stamp Affair stamps.

Have a great week...Paulette

That's Awkward...

Oh, My Goodness!  One of my Pick a Theme swap mates picked "That's awkward..." as a theme.  I'm not sure if little Sally is covering her mouth and nose because she smells a stinker or if she's surprised or simply embarrassed.
This little sweetheart ate beans before going to church. She's all dressed up in her Sunday Best but in an awkward moment, she "tooted" in church. Flowers were cut from a flower-edged ribbon & colored with marker. I added stickles to the centers. Sentiment is computer-generated. Image from the net.

It may be too late to warn you:  If you had beans last night, you may want to wear your carbon-filter panties to church today.

Have a blessed Sunday...Paulette

Happy Birthday, Mary Flynn

Happy Birthday, Mary Flynn!  I made this Artist Trading Card for a swap on Splitcoaststampers.  It makes a great Birthday card for an "old" friend.   Sending my love and wishes for a most awesome day of birthday celebration.

1940's School Days

Another Pick a Theme ATC.  My swap mate chose 1940's School Days for the topic.   This is a miniaturized copy of my actual 2nd grade report card.  Don't look too closely---the grades weren't that great.  And do the math---this barely meets the criteria for the 40's---I was in 2nd grade in school year '49-'50.  The image of the kids came from some ephemera I saw on ebay and the Big Chief tablet with actual pages & pencil was an earring from Savers.

Hope you enjoyed this trip down memory lane.

Favorite Childhood Toy

One of my swap mates in a Pick a Theme ATC swap on Splitcoaststampers chose the topic Favorite Childhood Toy.  I loved playing with dolls and my two godmothers (I was born during the war and there were no men around to be a godfather) would give me a doll every Christmas.  I played with dolls  until 7th grade.  This image is from a Graphic paper pack.  I embellished the card with some silk flower ribbon and rhinestones.  You can see more of my ATCs in my Splitcoast Gallery.

Ladybug, Ladybug, Fly...

Made this interactive ATC for a Bug ATC swap on SCS. The papers I used are from a re-purposed set of Mary Engelbreit note cards I got on clearance at Michaels. I used a prismacolor pencil to color the bug and the green outline. The wings were stamped on red cardstock, cut out and attached with a brad. Glossy accents were added to the head and spots on the bug. The flower was cut from the note card and attached with pop-dots. All the flowers came with a bit of glitter already on them.

Tulip and Butterfly

We are still promoting our Stamp N Plus Flower Challenge so my post this week is another multi-purpose flower card.  I chose this flower stamp X817.  I colored the flower with Prismacolors and OMS.  The background papers are from DCWV.  The butterfly was cut from a K & Co. scrapbook border.  The lace background was created using a Martha Stewart punch-all-over-the page punch.
Happy Monday!

All Dressed Up Cool Cat

I love to swap Artist Trading Cards and participate in Pick a Theme swaps on Splitcoaststampers.  One of my swap partners chose "Cats in Clothes" as a theme.  This dapper kitty is a piece of German scrap from the Paper Dreams Factory.  I added some die cut leaves, tiny flowers with Stickles centers, a bow ascot and a rhinestone knob on kitty's walking stick.

The flower was colored with Prismacolor pencils and OMS.  The lacey circles were cut from a Spellbinders Persian Motif die.  Green and purple rhinestones as well as an organza bow were added embellishments.  The papers are from DCWV.

Celebrate with a Cupcake

The theme is Celebration.  What better way to celebrate than with a cupcake!  This cute stamp is from Sister Stamps.  Miyoko was paper-pieced.  Her cupcake is a brad.  I used 2 different Cuttlebug embossing folders as backgrounds and Spellbinder dies for the circles.  Paper flowers with pearl centers and a rhinestone flowers are the accents.

I have entered this card in the following challenge:  Lollipop crafts-Celebrations

Happy Thursday,  Paulette Akagi
