Peter Penguin Dances the Hula

I designed this card for Scrappy Land Challenge #26.  The challenge is to use a stamped image and a die from a line that Scrappy Land carries.  The stamp is from a Stampin Up set that I stamped with Black Stazon and colored with Prismacolor pencils.  Peter's lei and floral headpiece were punched out of red vellum with a Punch Bunch flower corner punch.  The centers were done with yellow Stickles.  The large red flowers were cut with dies by Cheery Lynn.  Yellow half pearls were used as the flower centers.

Take time to dance today............................................Paulette

Hot Pink Hibiscus

Dies R Us September Challenge #33 Hot Colors uses this photo and colors to create a card.

I chose a hibiscus die by Die-namites as my focal point.  I used Spellbinders plain and scalloped circle dies for my circle panel.  I cut the flower from white card stock and colored the flower and leaves with Twinkling H2Os watercolors.  The card was designed using the Tent Topper Tutorial you can find HERE.  I added a K & Co. scrapbook border and a couple scraps of cardstock on top of the border.  A bit of yellow Stickles was added to the stamens.

Have a warm and sunny day......................Paulette

Forever

Rubber Dance Art Stamps is celebrating its one year anniversary with a September Challenge .  The challenge is to use one of the color palettes from the previous year of challenges with an optional theme of "Celebration."

I chose the July 2015 color palette and one of my favorite Rubber Dance Art Stamps and "Anniversary" as my "Celebration" theme.  The accessory stamps are also from Rubber Dance.

Congratulations to Bibi and her design team ............Paulette

Floral Wheelbarrow

This month's Die-Namites Challenge is to use this photo as inspiration.

I used this die and several flower and leaf punches in my design and attempted to maintain the color palette depicted in the photo.  I added some brads to the wheelbarrow and a Cuttlebug embossing folder to add texture to the background.

Who Let the Birdies Out?

This is an ATC I made for a Pick-a-Theme ATC swap where the category was Colors and my swap mate chose these colors for her favorite sports team.  The birdcage die is from Crafty Individuals and can be found HERE.  The tiny birds are wooden laser cut embellishments to which I added some Firefly Stickles.  The butterflies were cut with a Memory Box die.  I added some gems to the flower centers.

Have a great Sunday........................Paulette

It's Party Time!

 My inspiration: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/481322278903707997/
Bought this Partying Penguin at a garage sale today for 25 cents (just saw the set on ebay for over $40!) The paper just happened to be handy---it must be serendipity. I cut out the limes and berries and popped the 2 berries up on dimensionals. The limes and berries were even pre-glittered.

This drink site has made me really thirsty---is 11:30PM still Happy Hour? TGIF---It's Part Time!

Have a cool drink to start the weekend........Paulette

Hopeful Change

Today's Free for All Challenge on Splitcoaststampers is a tribute to Hopeful Change --- to our coming back from the tragedy of the events of 9/11. Taking something dark and transforming it to something bright. What came to mind for me was the darkness of a cold, rainy day that transforms when the sun comes out and the flowers bloom.  The "Hope" stamp is from Stamp N Plus Scrap N.  The flowers are K & Co. borders.  The tiny butterflies are from the cutouts of a Spellbinders Butterfly Circle die.  The sun is cut with a Stampin Up punch.

As we remember the tragic events of 9/11 on this anniversary, let's move forward with hope...Paulette

Thought I Ordered a Cat-puccino?

The challenge is: Coffee or Tea, Which Do YOU Drink? Coffee is my choice to start the day, I like ice tea for lunch a dinner and hot tea is my evening/bedtime drink. Since the stamp has mice in the cup, I thought I use a play on words and title my card: Thought I Ordered a Cat-puccino?
Stamps: Penny BlackPaper: DCWV Rustic StackInk: Black StazonAccessories: Lace, Flowers, Gold Stickles, Krylon Gold Leafing PenTechniques: Prismacolor pencils

I would like to enter my card in the Anything Goes Challenge  for September on the Penny Black Blog.

Udderly Happy B'Day

It was the annual Wisconsin State Cow Chip Throw & Festival this weekend...it's my tribute to the event.
Today's Try a New Technique Splitcoaststamper's challenge is: Half On, Half Off. I used a Penny Black stamp, colored the "Half On" part with Prismacolors and accented the balloons with Glossy Accents. Sentiment stamp is unknown.

Happiness Is...

The Readers"s Art Quest challenge for Sept. 2015 has a Coffee & Cream Theme and uses the following mood board for its color palette.

I used a Stampendous stamp that seems perfect for this theme.  I chose some papers from the DCWV Good Wood stack to use for the color palette.  I liked the "&"  in the pattern paper was cream colored and resembled a swirl of cream on the top of a cup of coffee and the "&" also hints at my theme of friendship.  I used a touch of orange from a Prismacolor pencil on the cup and added a few orange gems to accent the design.  On the cream layer I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder to also repeat the theme of the swirl of cream.

Take time this week for a cup of coffee with a friend....Paulette
