Santa Claus Is Coming to Town

The December Reader Art Quest on the Unruly PaperArts blog has the theme "Santa Claus is Coming to Town.  I painted my wooden sleigh with glittery acrylic paints in gold and silver.  The Christmas scene was cut out of German scrap.  I decoupaged the scrap onto the sled and added various colored and sized gems.  I topped the tree with a Dresden trim star.  I added some gold braid as the reins of the sleigh.  Using a Spellbinders label die, I cut out a tag and attached an embellishment from K & Co.

Still time to get busy with your Christmas Craft projects...Paulette

  1. Wonderful! Love all that German Scrap-I used some on angel pins!

  2. This is so sweet Paulette, my father used to make little sleighs from wood such as this when I was a child which I used to paint and decorate with cute little Christmas Bears and Holly. I still have some of the parts in a box somewhere. I love how you have decorated yours with the Christmas Scene. Thanks for sharing this project with us at Unruly and bringing back some wonderful memories for me. Danie xx

  3. Oh my goodness this is so pretty. It is going to look beautiful on your tree. The vintage Santa image is perfect for this sleigh !!! Thank you for creating and sharing with us at Unruly.

  4. Wow Paulette! I really love your sleigh...especially all the BLING!!!
