Santa Claus Is Coming to Town

The December Reader Art Quest on the Unruly PaperArts blog has the theme "Santa Claus is Coming to Town.  I painted my wooden sleigh with glittery acrylic paints in gold and silver.  The Christmas scene was cut out of German scrap.  I decoupaged the scrap onto the sled and added various colored and sized gems.  I topped the tree with a Dresden trim star.  I added some gold braid as the reins of the sleigh.  Using a Spellbinders label die, I cut out a tag and attached an embellishment from K & Co.

 I entered this card in the October DCWV Stamp-a-holic Sketch Challenge.   The card was selected to be in the Top Ten.  A drawing was held and I was selected to win a prize.  I'm doing the happy dance today!!!

This is the sketch I based my design on:

I used papers from the DCWV Autumn Melody stack.  The layers were outlined with a gold leaf Krylon pen.  I added rhinestone leaves and gems.

Our beautiful leaves have all fallen here in the Midwest...the weatherman is threatening a visit from Jack Frost.
