Mr. & Mrs. Santa Claus

The challenge on Rubber Dance Art Stamps Blog for Nov./Dec. uses the colors in the mood board below with an optional theme of Tis the Season.

Again for this challenge I chose my favorite Rubber Dance stamp.  I stamped it on white cardstock with Tim Holtz faded jeans ink.  I tore the edges of the image and cut out the area behind the couples heads and also cut off their hats.  I backed the cutout area with white cardstock.  The image was pasted on a piece of glittered fun foam in blue from Dollar Tree.  I used a pre-made white die-cut card from DCWV and backed the card front with a piece of red cardstock.  The bows were cut with a Tim Holtz punch and I added some rhinestones for earrings and rhinestone trim to frame the couple.

Wishing you a wonderful holiday season.................Paulette

The Written Word

The theme for the Readers' Art Quest challenge on the Unruly Paper Arts blog for November is "The Written Word" with this photo as a prompt.

I used a dictionary page for my background and chose florescent colors for my layers to echo the layers in the highlighted text in the photo.  The stamp is from Stamp N Plus Scrap N.  I used pinches and a Spellbinders die for the circles.  I accented my design with some Starform stickers.

Thanks for visiting.................................Paulette

Die-namites November Inspiration Challenge

This is my card for the Die-namites November Inspiration Challenge.  I used a die called Summer Branch and cut the branch out of some blue glittered fun foam from the Dollar Tree.  I added some iridescent rhinestones to the branch after mounting it on a bright copper colored foil cardstock.  I used some dark blue Stardream cardstock and an autumn themed pattern paper as background and mounted it on orange cardstock.

The inspiration for this challenge is this photo:

Thanksgiving Blessings

This month's DCWV Stack-a-holics Challenge uses this sketch:

I used papers from the Harvest House stack.  Circles were cut with Spellbinders Ironworks dies.  /the felt turkey came from a garage sale find.  The flourishes were cut from a Prickly Pear die.  I used a Krylon gold leafing pen to outline the dottedlayer and the dotted circle.  I added a glittered pumpkin and some webbed gold ribbon.

Happy Thanksgiving!.................Paulette
