Zebra Love

This week I'm featuring a Stamp N Plus stamp that can be found HERE.  The Inspirational Challenge  on Splitcoaststampers was to choose a photo from the National Geographic Art Store to inspire your card. As soon as I saw the zebra photos, I knew I had to make a card with this stamp. It's a Stamp N Plus Scrap N stamp from Dexter Griffin's Heritage Collection.  The NG photo I used for inspiration can be found HERE.

Have a great Monday!..........Paulette

Anthropomorphic Kitties

This week's SCS Inspiration Challenge is inspired by the the fabulous designs from the NYC Store of Michele Varian. I needed an ATC for a Pick a Theme swap with a "Cat" theme. I love the collection of wall art featured in Michele's catalog depicting anthropomorphic animals. I used a piece of gift wrap that depicted a vintage scene of three children in a carriage. I collaged the kitten heads from the design on the back of a deck of playing cards onto the spot where the children's heads should be. My inspiration can be found here: http://michelevarian.com/collections...e#.UgX4yOAkf4k

Play Games

My friend, Bonnie, is hosting a "Game On--Get Altered Challenge" over on the eclectic Paperie Blog.  I love this jointed doll stamp from Stampers Anonymous.  Her name is Lady Luck.  She was stamped on cream cardstock and colored with a red Prismacolor pencil.  The altered part of my collage is a portion of a Scrabble game box bottom.  I covered parts of the box with black gesso. Then I used Liquitex Soft Body Iridescent Rich Gold and Bright Gold paints and sponged them through punchinella and drywall tape as stenciling (I also smeared some of the gold paints with a sponge).  A bit of sparkle was added with Glamour Dust Ultra Fine Glitter Paint.  Lemon Drop was the name of the glitter paint.  I raided my embellishment stash for the Scrabble tiles, the hand charm, the mini cards, the crown charm, the tiny dice beads, the Asian game pieces and the casino chip and roulette sign.  The random glitter tape pieces were added to brighten things up a bit.

Thanks, Bonnie for a fun challenge!    Paulette

A Great Catch!

I made this card for a card contest at the MN Rubber Stamp Event. The theme was "A Great Catch." I used this card by Sweet Irene as inspiration: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ga...=sweet%20irene. By visiting her blog I was able to download the template for the fish. I used a bubble embossing folder for the background and another one for the fish to resemble scales. "Believe" is a Stamp N Plus Stamp.  The stamp is not on the Stamp N Plus website but can be ordered by calling LuAnn at 715-271-1873.  "Imagine" and "Hope" and even "Dream"  could also be used as a sentiment. The other words are computer generated. The small fish and the lure are embellishments made for decorating crocs. The arrows are brads.

Thanks for stopping by.     Paulette

Tiger Lily ATC

I made this ATC for a Pick a Theme swap. My swap mate chose the colors lime, turquoise and tangerine. It also works for this Inspiration Challenge. My inspiration for this card comes from this photo from the National Geographic Art Store

The stamp is from Penny Black and the image is colored with Prismacolor pencils.

Have a great day!  Paulette

Hawaiian Flamingo

My inspiration for this card comes from this photo from the National Geographic Art Store: http://national-geographic.cafepress...e=Wall%20Decal The Honolulu Zoo has a large flamingo population. Kaleo, with his lei, is a Hawaiian flamingo . I actually colored this guy with some hot pink Prismacolor pencils but against the yellow background, he looks rather orange like the one in the inspiration photo. The lei flowers were made with a set of Nellie Snellen 3-D flower punches---one punches & the other one embosses the flower to give it dimension.  The stamp is by Whipper Snapper Designs.

It's a sunny, flamingo kind of day...get out and enjoy it.   Paulette
