Summertime in Venice

One afternoon in Venice was just not enough time...my dream is to return to this magical city for an extended stay.
I created this card for the July Challenge on the Rubber Dance Art Stamps blog.  This stamp is from Rubber Dance Art Stamps.  My photo is a bit dark and the actual colors are more true to the colors pictured in this color chart.
I used DCWV papers and the flourish was cut with an Ellentina die.  I added paper flowers and the flower centers were made with cinnamon Stickles.

Dreaming of spending some time on the Grand Canal.......Paulette

Ladybug's Picnic

This card reminds me of the song "The Ladybug's Picnic" from Sesame Street.  I designed this card for the July Sketch and Dare Challenge on the die-namites blog.  I used Ladybug Flourish DN-1187:

You can find this die HERE.  I cut the die 4 times.  I made a base with the green die cut.  Then I cut the die 3 more times out of black, dark pink and black.  I cut out the bugs and flowers from the die-cuts and glued them onto the green die-cut.  I added yellow Stickles to the flower centers after attaching the die-cuts to the white background.  I stamped the sentiment with black ink...stamp is from Endless Creations.  The "dare" part of the challenge was to sketch or doodle.  My doodling is the dot and squiggle border.

Hope you take time for a picnic this summer........Paulette

Meet Miss Molly

July's Readers' Art Quest Challenge over on the Unruly Paper Arts blog is titled "Family Ties."  The color palette selected for this month is pictured below:

I don't recall ever designing a card using this color palette but after being away from my papercrafting for 2 months, I was up for the challenge.  I used papers from DCWV.  The flourishes were cut with a die by Ellentina.  My ancestor, I named her Molly, was "adopted" from a sheet of printouts from www.DigitalCollageSheets.com.  I embellished my design with some paper flowers with black rhinestone centers.

This color palette was actually a fun challenge!.............Paulette

Fly High

The DCWV July Challenge uses this sketch:

For my card I used the DCWV Sky's the Limit stack.  I used a Teresa Collin's die to cut the tag and a Spellbinders die for the scalloped circle.  The scalloped separating the rainbow patterned paper from the cloud patterned paper is a piece of scrapbook border trim.  "Fly High" and the airplane were fancy cut from another paper in this DCWV stack.  I added some baker's twine and lots of rhinestone bling to add some extra "pop" to my design.

This card would make a great graduation card or to celebrate a first or new job...................Paulette

Beach House Collectables

A Pinterest Board entitled Beach House was the inspiration site for this Splitcoaststampers Inspiration challenge. I chose the shells and the colors in this pin as my inspiration: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/413416440770770202/.  The ink is Tim Holtz Ranger Tumbled Glass.  The white card is pre-embossed by DCWV.  Turquoise paper is Recollections.  Punch is by Martha Stewart.  Stamp is unknown.

I haven't posted in awhile as I've had a house guest since May 27th.

It's great to be back!..........................................Paulette
