Golfing Days

This week on Splitcoaststampers the Inspiration Challenge is a menswear site.  I chose this light blue shirt with a white collar as my inspiration.  I used a pre-made DCWV card and the image is from a Graphic 45 paper pad.  The sentiment is a Stampin Up stamp.

Hope you are doing something fun on days ending in "y."  Paulette

Happy Birthday, Debbie!

We celebrated my BFF Debbie's B'day with a surprise party this weekend.  This is a centerpiece I made for the party.  The doll was cut from a Spellbinders die and the lettering from  Sizzix dies.

Thinking of you

This card was made for this week's color challenge.  Flower was cut with a Poppy Stamps die.  The negative spaces were colored with Prismacolor pencils were used to color the negative spaces in the die cut.  Sentiment stamp source is unknown.

Have a great Tuesday.........................................Paulette

Wildflower Bouquet

The Try a New Technique challenge this week on Splitcoaststampers is die-cut stencils.  I used the negative of this Memory Box bouquet stencil to randomly sponge the flower design as a background using Ranger Broken China Distress ink.  I added an applique butterfly and some gems as accent.

Have a great week.........................Paulette

Oopsy Daisy

It's Inspiration Challenge day over on Splitcoaststampers.  I picked up the K&co. dimensional flower stickers for 25 cents at a garage sale. The branches were cut with a Memory Box die. My inspiration piece has fish in it but I'm allergic to all seafood so I used the daisy-like flowers, the colors, and the seaweed as inspiration. You could even stretch your imagination a bit and decide the dry embossed background resembles the fish scale pattern. The inspiration comes from this picture.

Happy Saturday.......................Paulette

Botanical Bingo

The June Stackaholics Challenge on the DCWV Diary Blog is "circle Crazy."  It's a sketch challenge and this is the sketch:

I used a Bingo card embossing folder and colored the embossed parts with a Krylon gold leafing pen.  The circles were cut from the DCWV Botanical stack with a Spellbinders circle Nestabilities die.  Some of the circles were made dimensional with pop-dots.  I embellished with some flower-shaped gems.

Have a great weekend........................Paulette

"Wheely Great"

I used a stamp and die set from Taylored Expressions to create this card with a masculine theme.  It could be used for Father's Day, a male birthday, male graduation or other male congratulatory occasion.  The pattern paper is from DCWV.  Besides the car die, I used Spellbinders Nestabilities labels to cut the black and gold layers behind the car.  I used the Embedded Die technique:  I stamped the car on tan paper and cut it out with the car die.  Then I used the car die to cut out a space on the black label layer and used the negative space in the black label layer to embed the tan car. The wheels came from my stash of steampunk embellishments.

I'm entering this in a challenge on the Dies R Us blog----One for the Boys/Father's Day

My Anchor

I'm in a Pick a Theme ATC swap on Splitcoaststampers and my swapmate chose red, white and blue as her theme.  I used these fun papers from Graphic 45 and a seaside theme for my card.  Embellishments include an anchor charm, some baker's twine and small sea shells...and a tiny red gem as an earring.

Meet June

Meet June, she's a Prima doll tag that I made for a swap on Splitcoaststampers. I paper pieced her dress, hair and headband. I embellished her dress with lace, some tiny white flowers with red Stickle centers, added some red gems to the neckline and headband. I added a die cut leafy scroll, a fabric flower with a rhinestone button center, and a sparkly lace butterfly. Some ribbon and fibers were added to the tag hole.  The dress was paper pieced with Graphic 45 paper.  The background paper is from the DCWV Botanical stack.

Have a fabulous week................Paulette

The Cat that Sat

I've been hoarding cancelled postage stamps since forever. There is a challenge group in PAT 29 on Splitcoaststampers that requires using postage stamps in the design. Having a sizeable collection of cat rubber stamps, I knew there was one with a cat in a chair similar to the one on the postage. The Inspiration Challenge this week is the Bassett Furniture site.  My inspiration comes from this chair in the Bassett collection.  I used colors from the postage in my design. I used a gold Krylon pen the color the bird and crown embellishments.

Have a nice weekend!.......................Paulette

Meet Miss Pansy

I found this paper on sale at Tuesday Morning and immediately knew it would go perfectly by this stamp by Crafty Individuals.  I love how the pansy in the pattern paper echoes the pansy on the stamp.  The stamp is part of a 4 part set called "Four Pretty Young Girls."  Embellishments include some lace with lavender ribbon, purple gems, a metal butterfly and a purple and lavender ribbon tag tie.  I colored the image with Prisma color pencils.

I am entering my card in the June Challenge on the Crafty Individuals blog.  The theme this month is "Tag You're It" and I have incorporated a tag in the design.  You can find the challenge HERE.

Tag!  You're it...time for a great weekend.................Paulette

By the Sea Twinchie

I designed this mermaid twinchie (2"x2") for a swap.  The image is from the internet.  I added fish brads, a starfish charm, some half pearls and some tiny shells.  A sprinkle of microbeads in green & turquoise with a touch of gold mini-sequins was added to the bottom.

The giant clam reminds me of my trip to the Great Barrier Reef last November.  The underwater scene was quite similar to this minus the pearls and of course, the mermaid.

I am entering this in the "By the Sea" June Reader Art Quest by Unruly Papers Arts.

Wishing you some underwater magic this summer......Paulette

Big Boob

I used a computer-generated sentiment to make this Belated Birthday card for a friend. I totally missed sending her a card. I used the "Fill the background with border diecuts" technique which is today's challenge on Splitcoaststampers. I used a Fiskars punch for my border cuts.  This inside says "Sorry I missed your birthday.

Have a great day!........................Paulette
